Turkey: An Economic Train Wreck?

Is Turkey becoming an economic Turkey and problematic issue for the European Union? Some have called Turkey; an economic train wreck. At least one person has been writing some hard-hitting articles, which have appeared in the Economist, Foreign Affairs, The Financial Times and World Financial News. What can Turkey do to prevent further decline from an obvious bird flu type virus?

Turkey is geographically in a problematic situation also considering the future Showdown in Iran over their nuclear weapons manufacturing. Turkey had also done a 180 recently with regards to their support of the United States in the War on Terror in trying to stay on a more neutral ground.

What will it take to give the Turkish economy the wings it needs to fly again? But wait there is more. Both Iran and Turkey have been launching raids into Iraqs northern areas against the Iraq-based Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK). It seems that there are 12 million Kurds in Turkey also and they are demanding rights there.

Now Iran is aligning itself with Turkey, as to have more diplomatic friends as it moves to secure a nuclear arsenal to blow Israel off the map. This is also causing economic issues and capital money to outflow. Turkey is also threatening France with economic sanctions and this is further causing problems in trade and money flows. Consider all this in 2006.
